Meet the Resource Center Staff!

 

 

Gwendolyn Alden Dean,
Coordinator

Gwendolyn came to Cornell University in December 1998 as the LGBT RC's third coordinator. Previously, she worked on lgbt issues at Stanford University and Emory University. She was the Chair of the National Consortium of Directors of LGBT Resources in Higher Education from 2001-2003 and sat on the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's National Policy Roundtable.

Her favorite things about the Resource Center are the delightful visitors and the rainbow flag in the window.

Sarah Lynn Doherty '03,
Office Manager

Sarah joined the Resource Center in June 2003. She majored in Sociology and Women's Studies and actively participated in Resource Center activities and lgbt student groups throughout her undergraduate years. She was out and proud in high school in Massachusetts and a member of the Lesbian Avengers-Boston.

Student Office Assistant

James Bateman is double-majoring in City and Regional
Planning and Religious Studies. He began working in the Resource Center in the spring of 2004 and is involved in several LGBT organizations on campus including CUGSA, DASH, and LBQ. James organized and maintains the Resource Center library.

His favorite things about the Resource Center are the uber-comfy couches and the cheery and fabulous
atmosphere.

Student Office Assistant

Calvin served as treasurer of Haven for 2004-2005 and secretary of Haven for 2005-2006, and was re-elected in spring 2006 to his second consecutive term as the LGBTQ Liaison to the Student Assembly. Calvin is an active housemember of the Telluride House at Cornell, where he serves as its Treasurer. He also is a trustee of the Telluride Association, and was recently elected as its Secretary. At Cornell, he studies History and Spanish, with a concentration in Latin American Studies. His current work focuses on 16th-17th Spanish colonial slave ideology and slave classification in Latin America.
